Seeing Christ in Every Person Changes How You Love

One simple decision can radically shift how we move through the world: “I will look for Christ in each person around me—including myself.”
When we hold that lens, our actions become less about controlling outcomes and more about honoring the sacred in front of us. Instead of asking, “How do I get this person to respond the way I want?”, we begin to ask, “How can I serve, love, and show up faithfully, regardless of the outcome?”
This shift does not make us passive. It actually anchors us more deeply in self-leadership.
We become:
less dependent on others’ reactions
more rooted in who we are in Christ
more able to respond with tenderness instead of reactivity
In marriage, this looks like seeing your spouse not as a problem to fix, but as a beloved human whom God loves infinitely. In your own healing, it looks like treating yourself not as a project but as a person Christ indwells and cherishes.
Practices like breathwork, sound therapy, and prayerful reflection can help calm the nervous system enough to remember this lens. From a regulated state, we can choose to see Christ instead of only seeing threat.
If you want support regulating your system so you can live from this place of Christ-centered self-leadership, book a sound therapy and spirit-led healing session on my website.
If you and your spouse are stuck in cycles of defensiveness and blame, I’d love to help you reclaim this lens together. Schedule a couples coaching session and we’ll practice seeing the sacred in one another again.
