Your Symptoms Are Messengers, Not Your Identity

Mental health language can be incredibly helpful. Terms like anxiety, depression, trauma response, and attachment wounds give us a vocabulary for what’s happening inside. They can reduce shame and help us find community and resources.
But symptoms are not the whole story. They are like warning lights on the dashboard, letting us know that something deeper needs attention.
The true wound often lies in a mixture of:
past experiences and trauma
relational dynamics and attachment patterns
spiritual disconnection or misbeliefs
chronic stress in the body
If we only focus on managing symptoms, we may feel a bit better for a while, but the root remains. True transformation asks us to gently open the wound itself—at a pace your nervous system can handle—and allow healing at the physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual levels.
In my sessions, sound therapy, nervous system work, and Christ-centered healing help move us from “What’s wrong with me?” to “What happened to me, and how can this be healed?” Your symptoms become allies, pointing the way toward the places God wants to restore.
If you’re ready to move beyond symptom management and explore the deeper wound with support and safety, book a sound therapy and spirit-led healing session on my website.
If your symptoms are spilling into your marriage—through shutdown, anger, or disconnection—there is a path forward. Schedule a couples coaching session and we’ll work together to understand the wounds underneath your patterns and create new ways of relating.
